Have the Super Kings "LOST" it?

When IPL started, Chennai Super Kings were one of the favorites along with Deccan Chargers(phew wat a let down they are) and Kolkata Knight Riders.Even though , KKR and DC have been super flops, Chennai Kings the first 4 matches with ease and appeared to be cruising along until a wrong footed bowler
named Sohail Tanvir came along. The bashing they got from Rajasthan Royals was one of the worst in the tournament.
And after yesterday's match, it seems like the Chennai Super Kings somehow, have lost their way . The "luck" of MSD is wearing off and is seems that the
luck was only because of the presence of Matthew Hayden ,Mike Hussey and Jacob Oram. With them leaving, it seems like CSK, just do not have the
firepower to win.
This sudden turnaround has definetely brought about a spark in the IPL. Now IPL, is not jus about 4-5 teams, we see all the 8 teams are coming good and
have a shot at the semifinals, especially with 7 more matches(8 for some) remaining. But will CSK get back to there winning ways?Remains to be seen.

IPL - The cricketing extravaganza

On 18th April, the cricketing fraternity saw history being made. Just days after their competitors, ICL showed how cricket can sell, inspite of having no sponsors, no grounds and no recognized players, it was left to the big daddy of cricket, the BCCI, to show the ICL who was the boss. And they did it in style. Fireworks, cheerleaders, shows put up by different kinds of artists. It couldn't have got better.

The inaugural edition of the T20 bash officially kicked off here before the packed house with a traditional recital from Gita and popular numbers from Bollywood movies by Shankar Eshan and Loy. Sixteen stilt walkers, eight acrobats who performed gravity-defying stunts on ropes of silk, eight rapellers dressed in the colours of the eight teams skimmed down from the stadium roofs on super-thin wires and eight bubble dancers spinning and dancing in giant transparent bubbles left spectators in total trance. This mind blowing acrobatics was followed by the performance from the Washington Redskin cheerleaders roped in by Mallya-owned Royal Challengers specially for the event captivated one and all.

Well ,more on the cheerleaders later. The hype started long before the actual match began. The auctions of the players, which brought a comment from Adam Gilchrist , he said he felt like a "showdog", a very costly one at that. Money was spent freely on players, both known and unknown. Mike Hussey and Ricky Ponting getting lower bids than people like Cameron White and David Hussey.

Well, its started now and the matches are getting excited. I have started blogging a bit late but you can see a new blog everyday right here.
